From October to June is the best time to visit Coorg because it doesn't rain and the weather is nice. But if you want to go trekking, the best time to visit the town is from October to March. The weather was nice enough to spend more time outside. It is best not to go during the monsoon months of late July and August, when it rains a lot and landslides happen.

By air: The Mangalore International Airport is the closest airport to Coorg. It is 165 km away to the south. You can take a taxi from here to get to Coorg. Mangalore International Airport (IXE), which is 111 km from Coorg, is the closest.

By Road: Most of South India's big towns are easy to get to by car. You can get to Coorg on a fancy KSRTC bus from Mangalore, Bengaluru, or Mysore.

By train: A train stop in Mysore is 95 km away from Coorg. To get to Coorg, you can take a cab from Mysore. You could also take a bus to Coorg, which leaves from outside the train station.
